Maharashtra Muslim marriage Bureau

Maharashtra Muslim marriage is the union of two Muslims who belong to the same or different endogamous groups or sects. There are mainly two sects of Muslims in Maharashtra: Shia and Sunni, and some sub-groups like Bohra. Inter-sect marriages are rare and discouraged. Maharashtra Muslim marriages are registered with the local BMC ward office under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998. The couple has to submit their photos, marriage card and priest’s contact details for registration. Maharashtra Muslim marriages are usually celebrated with traditional rituals, customs and ceremonies that vary according to the region, culture and sect of the bride and groom.
